19 Oct Summer Adventure Elopement in the Cascades Featuring Soft & Romantic Florals
October 19, 2020
This was definitely a tough summer for weddings. Many couples had to drastically downsize, change and change again, reschedule… Pandemic life definitely presented a lot of challenges for folks just trying to celebrate love with their loved ones. However, I was fortunate enough to work with several couples this year who really embraced the changes thrust upon them, and Lauren and Hunter were one of these special partnerships.
Lauren & Hunter teamed up with the incredible Foxes Photography, with the images shot by Hannah Aspen. The Foxes specialize in facilitating & photographing dreamy, adventurous & romantic adventure elopements in wild places. I must admit having most of my weddings & events postponed until next year I was bumming pretty hard around the time Lauren called my about their elopement & asked me to create them a bridal bouquet & boutonniere for their intimate ceremony. I was quickly over the moon by the opportunity to participate in their adventure elopement, as well as the amount of trust Lauren put into my work. Having my clients trust me & my work always allows me to create the most magic! I had a wonderful time using blooms exclusively from our boutique flower farm to create this soft & romantic bouquet.
Lauren loved the look of pampas grass with creamy pinks & whites, but wanted to keep the bouquet a manageable size. I chose some beautiful astilbe from our shade garden to mirror the look & textures of pampas grass, pale pink\peachy garden roses, delicate agrostemma & queen Anne’s lace for movement, and kept the bridal bouquet foliage-free.
Their ceremony was held in Rockport Forest in the North Cascades Mountains, just a couple hours outside Bellingham, WA. The lush greenery, towering trees, and beautiful dappled light provided an incredibly special ceremony site. They were surrounded by the 5 people they love most, and the joy radiating from this intimate group is palpable in the photos. Next up was a hike to the top of Sauk Mountain for some mountaintop photos and, of course! some delicious charcuterie boards & drinks to fill up their bellies after a long walk.
These images from their elopement are absolutely stunning, and I am so grateful to have been able to work with such a positive, loving couple during this wild & crazy summer.
